Course description

  • What is happiness?
  • Can we really know something for sure?
  • Are ethical values relative?
  • Why is there something rather than nothing?

Philosophy attempts to understand these and similar problems. Outstanding thinkers have not only tried for more than 2,500 years to find answers but also to better understand the questions themselves and restate them. Explore this rich history and study the different positions in their systematic context. You will learn how to critically analyse and evaluate philosophical arguments during your degree course. As a result, you will develop pronounced skills in argumentation, learn how to understand difficult texts and acquire the ability to communicate complex thought structures.
