Course description

What factors define modern China? In which direction is China headed? What role is China taking in a globalised world? How can we interact with China?

To enable you to find well-founded answers to these and similar questions, we offer you an interdisciplinary education that initially focuses on intensive learning of the spoken and written language. The course will provide you with specific fundamental knowledge about the politics, history, economy, law, society and culture of China. You will then build on these foundations by using methods from the fields of business studies, economics, law and social sciences, which you will study by attending the regular courses held by these departments.

We also provide you with an insight into contemporary China in applied courses, e.g. Chinese commercial law. The main focus is placed here on urgent issues relating to China’s development, e.g. in the area of labour and social policy. We thus train critically thinking specialists on China with a good level of knowledge of the language, country and relevant specialist themes who are well-prepared to take on the challenges of the complex interaction with China.
