Secure Endangered Data Repositories and Promote Data Resilience
Aim “Funding will be made available for the period from 2025 to presumably 2027 to promote the resilience of data infrastructures and to secure data sets and research results from repositories abroad that are particularly important for German research and which are at risk of no longer being available for research purposes, either now or in the future, and to make them available to the scientific community. To this end, the initiative supports a broad range of measures demonstrably contributing to the preservation of scientific data and research results.”
Target group both individuals and institutions
Duration In the event of approval, funds must be drawn down by 9 December 2025 and normally expended by 31 January 2026. Due to the annual budgetary binding of funds, projects may be funded up until no later than 31 December 2027; this date also marks the end of the project term.

Deadline initiatives to preserve data: at any time until 30 September 2027 | reimbursement: as soon as possible, but no later than 10 November 2025 | all other proposals for which expenditure is to be incurred during 2025: 10 November 2025
