Within the framework of administrative evaluation, job shadowing for academic and administrative staff were identified as an important component for the development of the University of Cologne. Academic and administrative staff expressed the wish for more exchange between administrative and academic fields.

The objective of the programme is provide administrative and academic staff with the opportunity to exchange perspectives thus enabling a deeper undertanding for each other's work. Quality managment welcomes this opportunity to greatly improve communication between and optimization of interfaces and would like therefore to encourage staff to take advantage of this option.
