The English Studies course at the University of Cologne gives you an excellent academic and research-oriented education in English linguistics and anglophone literature and culture. You will become capable of independently positioning yourself within research.
The cultural theory elements of the degree programme enable you to collaborate with cultural studies experts from other disciplines beyond your own field of expertise in a constructive and targeted manner.
This makes you ideally qualified for managerial positions in linguistic, text-related and cultural professions, e.g. in publishing, culture management or national and international organisations.
The master’s programme is also the ideal preparation for a career in academia.
