Course description
Study programme and qualification
The constant increase in linguistic skills on the one side and the academic study of the language, literature and culture of various Slavic contexts on the other are equal components of the study programme. The focus in the master’s degree thus no longer lies on acquisition but on the application of knowledge. The programme is research-oriented and teaches the foundations of independent academic work. The single-subject master’s degree comprises the following modules: Language acquisition, in which two single-semester modules on the chosen language are to be completed; linguistics or literary studies; ancient Slavic studies; cultural studies; additional language; additional language philology and extension modules. The dual-subject master’s degree comprises these modules: Language acquisition, in which one single-semester module on the chosen language is to be completed; linguistics or literary studies; ancient Slavic studies; additional language. If the master thesis is written in Slavic studies, other extension modules are added (mobility, placement, research-oriented teaching, in-depth learning in cultural studies, Eastern and Central European history, subject-related didactics).
