Course description
The Master's in Theories and Practices of Professional Writing is a single-subject Master's programme. It is characterised by a broad consideration of different forms of writing, which are theoretically and historically reflected upon and practically tested as part of the study programme. The programme focuses on both non-literary and literary text types, which are examined from a cultural studies, cognitive science and media theory perspective with regard to their different production, tradition and topicality in the contemporary media landscape. In addition to the theoretical approaches, the degree programme offers sound training in rhetorical, journalistic and literary techniques and thus imparts a broad spectrum of writing skills.
Language skills may have to be demonstrated upon admission to the master’s degree. You can find more information in the admission regulations.
